Miss Universe 2010 Crowned Mexico Miss Jimena Navarrete

Miss Jimena Navarrete 22 of Mexico Guadalajara won the Miss Universe 2010 Pageant. There were 88 participants from 6 continent at the 59th annual pageant held in Las Vegas, broadcast live on NBC.

2nd place hold Miss Jamaica Yendi Philipps, 3rd place won Miss Australia Jenista Campbell, fourth Miss Ukraine Anna Poslavska, and next 5th Miss Philippines Venus Raj favorite coming into the competition.

Navarrete was the top scoring competitor in the evening gown component of the competition, and was the second-highest scorer in the swimsuit portion.

Judges asked Navarrete about the effect that the Internet has on young people and she said it is an indispensable tool.

Miss Venezuela Stefania Fernandez

The Miss Universe 2009 Miss Venezuela Stefania Fernandez won the crown.

Miss USA Rima Faikh, the first Muslim-American person to win the Miss USA competition, did not make it to the final round.
