HARRISON Ford doesn’t want to be a newlywed!

Exceptional HARRISON Ford 68 doesn’t want to be referred to as a newlywed!

At a recent press conference, the actor — who wed longtime partner Calista Flockhart earlier this year — was asked if he’s cooking more now that he’s married.

“Newlywed?” he said. “Me? Newlywed? I’m always wed. We were together for 10 years. The honeymoon’s over.

“I’m a cook.

“I like to cook. I like meals in minutes. I like to get it done – and eat. I’m not a guy that’s going to do a red-wine reduction all day long, but I like to cook. I mostly like to cook because I like to eat. And I like to eat at home.”

Ford, 68, recently revealed he got asked for ID while trying to buy beer.

“I went to buy some beer the other day and got carded!” he said.

“I said, ‘I’m 68 years old,’ and he said, ‘Young people complain about being singled out, so we ask everyone to show proof.’

“I said ‘take a look at me. Are you kidding?’ But he still wanted to see it.”

Joan Baez 1960s Singer - Hurt in Treehouse Fall

Joan Chandos Baez 69 is an American folk singer, songwriter and activist. Baez has a distinctive vocal style, with a strong vibrato. Her recordings include many topical songs and material dealing with social issues.

Baez began her career performing in coffeehouses in the Boston-Cambridge area, and rose to fame as an unbilled performer at the 1959 Newport Folk Festival. She began her recording career in 1960, and achieved immediate success. Her first three albums, Joan Baez, Joan Baez, Vol. 2, and Joan Baez in Concert all achieved gold record status, and stayed on the charts for two years.
Joan Baez had the treehouse built -- without walls -- 20 feet high in an oak tree behind her Woodside home because she wanted to sleep with actual birds.

But the folk-singing legend, who once performed the civil-rights anthem "We Shall Overcome" before half a million people at Woodstock, was brought unceremoniously to earth Wednesday, falling as she climbed down from the platform.

Almost four decades after she earned a gold record with "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down," paramedics drove the golden-throated pixie down to Stanford Hospital, where she was treated and released after it was determined she had suffered only minor injuries.

Baez, 69, was "resting comfortably" Thursday at a secure, undisclosed and presumably low-altitude location, said Nancy Lutzow, who runs Baez's Menlo Park production company.

"I sleep in a tree all summer long," Baez told an English blogger in 2008. "I climb up on a ladder, with ropes and things. The birds are right there in the morning. Sometimes they're flying so close to my head, I can feel the wind. Those things are heaven to me."

Baez was at the forefront of a musical movement that began in the coffeehouses of Greenwich Village in Manhattan during the early 1960s, performing the first cover of a song written by the then-unknown Bob Dylan, with whom she soon plunged into a tempestuous three-year romance. After their difficult parting, Dylan wrote the revenge ballad "Positively 4th Street," in which he sang to his former folkie allies, "You know as well as me. You'd rather see me paralyzed."

Baez's spokeswoman said the singer shall overcome her injuries someday -- just not tod

LEEZA Gibbons 53 is getting married her boyfriend Steven Fenton 40.
The former talk show host has revealed that she and and her beau of two years, Steven Fenton, got engaged in June.

Fenton, 40, asked Gibbons, 53, to marry him on the lawn of their new home in L.A. before they moved in, she told People magazine.

“He was on one knee and I was on Cloud 9!” Gibbons says. “I have a ring but we decided that I won’t wear it until we have a private exchange of vows.”

The couple started after being set up on a blind date two years ago.

“In the beginning, the age thing tripped me up for a minute,” Gibbons says. “I believe in love and I always held onto the belief that I would find it again but I didn’t think it would come in the form of Steven.”

The pair haven’t set a date for their nuptials.

“We’ll know when the time is right … Steven knew he wasn’t just marrying me, he was marrying into a family that included my kids,” says Gibbons, who has three children from two previous marriages.

“Our energy is the same and we connect through our desire to love our families and friends, serve our communities and make a difference.”

Secret Stuffing Recipe of Marilyn Monroe

Fragments, a book of rare photographs of Marilyn Monroe as well as letters and other documents from the late celebrity, contains an unlikely culinary gem: her recipe for stuffing. And not just any stuffing! The recipe, write Matt and Ted Lee, who have devised an updated version for home cooks, "suggests that she not only cooked, but cooked confidently and with flair": reported by The New york Times.

Scrawled on stationery with a letterhead from a title insurance company, the recipe describes in some detail how to prepare a stuffing for chicken or turkey. The formula is extensive in the number of ingredients (11, not including the 5 herbs and spices, or salt and pepper), and in their diversity (3 kinds of nuts and 3 animal proteins). It is unorthodox for an American stuffing in its use of a bread loaf soaked in water, wrung dry and shredded, and in its lack of added fat, broth, raw egg or any other binder.

It also bears the unmistakable balance of fussiness and flexibility that is the hallmark of an experienced and confident cook. Giblets are to be "liver-heart," and the beef is to be "browned (no oil)," yet certain other details are left flapping in the wind: the amount of spices is not specified, nor the amount of "parsarly." O.K., the instruction of "1 handful" of grated Parmesan is clear enough, but what to make of the first line -- "No garlic" -- of the recipe?

For recipe-restoration geeks like us, this was a challenge we couldn't resist, especially as we head into high season for stuffing. Our goal was to fill in the blanks and produce a stuffing recipe that anyone could complete successfully. Of all the souvenirs of Marilyn's life available, this was the one we actually wanted.

Record breaking Price of Gold

Wednesday the 29th September, 2010 highly demanded Gold extended its record-breaking streak as investors continue to scoop up the precious metal amid fears about the economy.

Gold futures for December delivery, the most active contract, rose $6.50 to $1,314.80 an ounce in global trading, surpassing its previous intra-day trading high of $1,311.80 reached Tuesday.

Gold also settled at the record high of $1,310.30 per ounce, $2 higher than the prior record, set on Tuesday.

A falling dollar and mixed economic reports that suggest the recovery is sluggish at best have recently boosted the safe-haven appeal of the precious metal. Gold is up 5.9% this month and has surged nearly 32% year-over-year.

Lending to gold's rally, investors expect the Federal Reserve to buy more U.S. Treasurys in November in a move to stimulate the economy. That act, referred to as quantitative easing, would drive U.S. yields down and make Treasurys and the dollar less attractive safe-haven investments.

At the same time, cost-cutting measures implemented by governments around the world to narrow their fiscal deficits are expected to eat into growth, said Kathy Lien, director of currency research at Global Forex Trading.

"So with the Fed easing monetary policy and growth expected to slow in Europe, investors are not left with many alternatives except for gold," she said in a research note.

Despite the record, gold is still far from its real peak, as measured in dollars adjusted for inflation.

After the Iran hostage crisis and ahead of the Soviet Union invasion of Afghanistan, gold prices hit their true peak on Jan. 21, 1980, when a settlement of $825.50 an ounce translated into an all-time peak of $2,163.62 an ounce in 2009 dollars.

Mariah Carey Takes a Tumble During Live Performance

A very pregnant Mariah Carey performed a concert for a crowd of over 100,000 earlier today. The gig took place at the 2010 Formula 1 Singtel Singapore Grand Prix, where the legendary diva took a brief tumble on stage. She was quickly lifted to her feet again, and carried on with the performance like it was nothing:

When she was went wrong with her outfit, though -- it was Mariah's dancing that went wrong: She slipped in her high heels while striding across the stage and clapping along to her 1992 hit "Make It Happen." A nearby backup dancer quickly rushed to her aid and a smiling Carey made a very quick recovery, telling the crowd, "I did that on purpose."

Her next order of business was to remove the offending footwear. "Someone come out here and take these shoes off," Carey said into her microphone, adding, "Obviously I'm supposed to be barefoot."

When an assistant arrived with a bottle of water, Mariah pointed to her feet and gesticulated repeatedly until her message was clear.

"We love her. She is a darling dear," Carey said of the woman, identifiable as her stylist, Blair. Three dancers helped Carey balance -- and she kept on singing -- while an additional assistant ran out from backstage to help her out of her heels.

Carey is known for beckoning her crew onstage during shows for wardrobe and microphone adjustments. On New Year's Eve in New York last year, she announced, "I need some lipstick real quick and my hair fluffed," and also called in personal assistants to affix her microphone pack and hand her a glass of champagne. "They say I'm a diva so, might as well act like one," she told the crowd at Madison Square Garden.

The singer's predilection for high heels has tripped her up before. She nearly fell down while walking out onstage for a November 2009 appearance on "The Jay Leno Show."
After her show in Singapore last night, Carey rushed out a tweet so fans would know all was well and her good humor was intact. "TY SO much to my fans in Singapore!!!" she tweeted. "Yeah, several hectic moments, (lol!)but I tried to swirl them into festive!.Love+ God Bless."

Fans were extra curious about the fall because of ongoing rumors that Carey is pregnant. Mariah has refused to issue a statement confirming or denying she will be having her first child with husband Nick Cannon. In her only official comment on the matter, Carey said in a statement last month: "I appreciate everyone's well wishes, but I am very superstitious." Referring to her longtime publicist, Carey added: "When the time is right, everyone will know -- even Cindi Berger."

Carey's second Christmas album, "Merry Christmas II You," is due November 2. The disc features four new original songs, including first single "Oh Santa," along with production by Jermaine Dupri and Randy Jackson.

Forex Means Foreign Currency Exchange Trading

Foreign Exchange Or Currency Market

The foreign exchange market (forex, FX, or currency market) is a worldwide decentralized over-the-counter financial market for the trading of currencies. Financial centers around the world function as anchors of trading between a wide range of different types of buyers and sellers around the clock, with the exception of weekends.

Forex trading is used to speculate on the relative strength of one currency against another. The foreign exchange market is an over-the-counter market, which means that it is a decentralised market with no central exchange.

The primary purpose of the foreign exchange market is to assist international trade and investment, by allowing businesses to convert one currency to another currency. For example, it permits a US business to import European goods and pay Euros, even though the business's income is in US dollars. It also supports speculation, and facilitates the carry trade, in which investors borrow low-yielding currencies and lend (invest in) high-yielding currencies, and which (it has been claimed) may lead to loss of competitiveness in some countries.

In a typical foreign exchange transaction a party purchases a quantity of one currency by paying a quantity of another currency. The modern foreign exchange market started forming during the 1970s when countries gradually switched to floating exchange rates from the previous exchange rate regime, which remained fixed as per the Bretton Woods system.
Who trades currencies, and why?

There are four types of market participantsĂ¢€”banks, brokers, customers, and central banks.

    * Banks and other financial institutions are the biggest participants. They earn profits by buying and selling currencies from and to each other. Roughly two-thirds of all FX transactions involve banks dealing directly with each other.
    * Brokers act as intermediaries between banks. Dealers call them to find out where they can get the best price for currencies. Such arrangements are beneficial since they afford anonymity to the buyer/seller. Brokers earn profit by charging a commission on the transactions they arrange.
    * Customers, mainly large companies, require foreign currency in the course of doing business or making investments. Some even have their own trading desks if their requirements are large. Other types of customers are individuals who buy foreign exchange to travel abroad or make purchases in foreign countries.
    * Central banks, which act on behalf of their governments, sometimes participate in the FX market to influence the value of their currencies.

Daily turnover in the world's currencies comes from two sources:

    * Foreign trade (5%). Companies buy and sell products in foreign countries, plus convert profits from foreign sales into domestic currency.
    * Speculation for profit (95%).

Most traders focus on the biggest, most liquid currency pairs, known as "The Majors". These include US Dollar, Japanese Yen, Euro, British Pound, Swiss Franc, Canadian Dollar and Australian Dollar. In fact, more than 85% of daily forex trading happens in the major currency pairs.
The foreign exchange market is unique because of its

    * huge trading volume, leading to high liquidity
    * geographical dispersion
    * continuous operation: 24 hours a day except weekends, ie trading from 20:15 GMT on Sunday until 22:00 GMT Friday
    * the variety of factors that affect exchange rates
    * the low margins of relative profit compared with other markets of fixed income
    * the use of leverage to enhance profit margins with respect to account size

Market size and liquidity
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/a/a3/G_foreign_exchange_market_turnover.gif/300px-G_foreign_exchange_market_turnover.gif
Main foreign exchange market turnover, 1988Ă¢€“2007, measured in billions of USD.
Of the $3.98 trillion daily global turnover, trading in London accounted for around $1.36 trillion, or 34.1% of the total, making London by far the global center for foreign exchange. In second and third places respectively, trading in New York accounted for 16.6%, and Tokyo accounted for 6.0%. In addition to "traditional" turnover, $2.1 trillion was traded in derivatives.

Several other developed countries also permit the trading of FX derivative products (like currency futures and options on currency futures) on their exchanges. All these developed countries already have fully convertible capital accounts. Most emerging countries do not permit FX derivative products on their exchanges in view of prevalent controls on the capital accounts. However, a few select emerging countries (e.g., Korea, South Africa, India) have already successfully experimented with the currency futures exchanges, despite having some controls on the capital account.

FX futures volume has grown rapidly in recent years, and accounts for about 7% of the total foreign exchange market volume, according to The Wall Street Journal Europe (5/5/06, p. 20).

Foreign exchange trading increased by 38% between April 2005 and April 2006 and has more than doubled since 2001. This is largely due to the growing importance of foreign exchange as an asset class and an increase in fund management assets, particularly of hedge funds and pension funds. The diverse selection of execution venues have made it easier for retail traders to trade in the foreign exchange market. In 2006, retail traders constituted over 2% of the whole FX market volumes with an average daily trade volume of over US$50-60 billion (see retail trading platforms). Because foreign exchange is an OTC market where brokers/dealers negotiate directly with one another, there is no central exchange or clearing house. The biggest geographic trading centre is the UK, primarily London, which according to IFSL estimates has increased its share of global turnover in traditional transactions from 31.3% in April 2004 to 34.1% in April 2007. The ten most active traders account for almost 80% of trading volume, according to the 2008 Euromoney FX survey. These large international banks continually provide the market with both bid (buy) and ask (sell) prices. The bid/ask spread is the difference between the price at which a bank or market maker will sell ("ask", or "offer") and the price at which a market taker will buy ("bid") from a wholesale or retail customer. The customer will buy from the market-maker at the higher "ask" price, and will sell at the lower "bid" price, thus giving up the "spread" as the cost of completing the trade. This spread is minimal for actively traded pairs of currencies, usually 0Ă¢€“3 pips. For example, the bid/ask quote of EURUSD might be 1.2200/1.2203 on a retail broker. Minimum trading size for most deals is usually 100,000 units of base currency, which is a standard "lot".
Financial instruments

Spot
A spot transaction is a two-day delivery transaction (except in the case of trades between the US Dollar, Canadian Dollar, Turkish Lira and Russian Ruble, which settle the next business day), as opposed to the futures contracts, which are usually three months. This trade represents a Ă¢€Å“direct exchangeĂ¢€ between two currencies, has the shortest time frame, involves cash rather than a contract; and interest is not included in the agreed-upon transaction. The data for this study come from the spot market. Spot transactions has the second largest turnover by volume after Swap transactions among all FX transactions in the Global FX market. NNM

Forward
One way to deal with the foreign exchange risk is to engage in a forward transaction. In this transaction, money does not actually change hands until some agreed upon future date. A buyer and seller agree on an exchange rate for any date in the future, and the transaction occurs on that date, regardless of what the market rates are then. The duration of the trade can be a one day, a few days, months or years. Usually the date is decided by both parties.

Future
Foreign currency futures are exchange traded forward transactions with standard contract sizes and maturity dates Ă¢€” for example, $1000 for next November at an agreed rate. Futures are standardized and are usually traded on an exchange created for this purpose. The average contract length is roughly 3 months. Futures contracts are usually inclusive of any interest amounts.

Swap
The most common type of forward transaction is the currency swap. In a swap, two parties exchange currencies for a certain length of time and agree to reverse the transaction at a later date. These are not standardized contracts and are not traded through an exchange.

Option
A foreign exchange option (commonly shortened to just FX option) is a derivative where the owner has the right but not the obligation to exchange money denominated in one currency into another currency at a pre-agreed exchange rate on a specified date. The FX options market is the deepest, largest and most liquid market for options of any kind in the world..

Google's red-hot Android mobile operating system

Android mobile operating system Google's red-hot is expected to challenge the Symbian OS used by Nokia for global market supremacy by 2014, according to a new Gartner forecast. The research firm predicts Android-based devices will account for 17.6 percent of all smartphones sold this year and 29.6 percent of all shipments in 2014.

IDC likewise expects Android to make global smartphone gains -- growing from a 16.3 percent market share in 2010 to 24.6 percent in 2014. "Phone vendors have been drawn to Android because it allows them to present their own approach to what a smartphone experience can be," said IDC Senior Research Analyst Ramon Llamas. "In addition, users have quickly warmed to Android, comparing it to [Apple's] iOS due to its ease of use and a growing mobile-application storefront."

Rivals Respond

Gartner analysts attribute Android's dramatic rise to marketing and support from communications service providers. "We believe that market share in the OS space will consolidate around a few key OS providers that have the most support from CSPs and developers and strong brand awareness with consumer and enterprise customers," said Roberta Cozza, a principal research analyst at Gartner.

Gartner forecasts that Apple's share of the smartphone market will fall from 15.4 percent this year to 14.9 percent in 2014. Analysts widely see Apple's decision to relax the guidelines for iOS application developers it announced last April as an attempt to mitigate the growing popularity of Android among software designers.

"Developers reacted passionately when these restrictions were announced, and no doubt their reaction was a major factor in Apple's decision to rescind them," said Al Hilwa, director of application software development at IDC. "Mobile-platform choices are rapidly increasing, and developers are famous for shifting their allegiances if they are unloved."

Though Gartner expects Nokia's Symbian OS to continue to lead the smartphone market this year with 40.1 percent of all shipments, the company's hold on the market is expected to slip to 30.2 percent by the end of 2014, putting Android within striking distance. The bad news for Nokia is that Android's gains are likely to be at the high end of the smartphone market -- where handset margins and average selling prices are substantially higher.

This helps explain why Nokia decided last week to replace CEO Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo with Stephen Elop, currently the head of Microsoft's business division. Moreover, the world's leading cell-phone vendor announced Monday that Vice President Anssi Vanjoki, who heads Nokia's mobile-solutions unit, also will be leaving the company.

Microsoft's Smartphone Prospects

Despite Microsoft's rollout of Windows Phone 7, Gartner expects the software giant's share of the global mobile OS market will decline from 4.7 percent this year to 3.9 percent in 2014. However, IDC analysts believe there is still ample room for multiple mobile OS players to grow.

IDC predicts Microsoft's share of the global smartphone market will grow from 6.8 percent in 2010 to 9.8 percent in 2014. "Windows Mobile is expected to regain some of the share it has lost over the past two years," the research firm's analysts noted.

Gartner forecasts that Research In Motion's BlackBerry OS will slide from a global market share of 17.5 percent this year to just 11.7 percent in 2014. By contrast, IDC estimates a 17.9 percent share for RIM in 2010 and 17.3 percent in 2014.

No one smartphone OS will dominate mobile phones in the way Microsoft has with Windows on personal computers, noted IDC Senior Research Analyst Kevin Restivo. "Shorter replacement cycles and an ample feature phone-to-smartphone upgrade opportunity means the smartphone OS market will remain fragmented but healthy for the foreseeable future," Restivo said.

Zsa Zsa Gabor 93 go into a coma - again returned to the hospital

Zsa Zsa Gabor  93 again returned to the hospital after slipping into unconsciousness on Tuesday following a series of health-related setbacks since breaking her hip in July.
She was in "a great deal of pain" Tuesday morning and her husband, Frederick Prinz von Anhalt, found her to be "not responsive," her spokesman, John Blanchette, told Reuters.

Von Anhalt called an ambulance to take his wife to the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, where doctors were able to stabilize her condition. No further details were available.

Earlier in August, Gabor was given last rites by a priest at the same hospital.

At that time, doctors wanted to perform surgery on her liver that would give her a 50-50 chance of survival, but the couple decided "she wanted to spend her final days at home," according to Blanchette. She returned to her Bel Air mansion in mid-August.

The Hungarian-born Gabor, whose string of movies, television shows and wealthy husbands dates to the 1950s, broke her hip on July 17 when she fell out of bed while watching the TV game show "Jeopardy." She had surgery to replace the hip two days later.

She has appeared in more than 30 movies, and her penchant for calling everyone "dah-ling" in her Hungarian accent made her a well-known Hollywood personality.

Along with her two glamorous sisters Eva and Magda, Gabor made several appearances on radio and television shows in the 1950s and 1960s. She appeared in the movie "Moulin Rouge," followed by "Lili" and later "Touch of Evil."

Gabor and von Anhalt have been married for 24 years. Before him, she was married eight times to a string of husbands that included a Turkish diplomat and the hotel magnate Conrad Hilton.

Christina Applegate Like eating very much

CHRISTINA Applegate 38 who is going to give birth to her first child with fiance Martyn Lenoble later this year — hasn’t been craving anything in particular, but can’t resist tucking into her favorite treats, whatever the time of day.

“Just keep going with it in my mouth,” she said.

Christina has been studying her friends and looking to her mother for guidance on how to raise her child and is confident she will be able to adopt both a hands-on and hands-off approach to parenting.

“I’ll probably be a little bit hippy and a little bit Type A,” she said. “I’ll take from what my mother did, which was way hippy and like ‘Do what you wanna do,’ and bring some things that I know from watching my friends raise their kids. An amalgamation of sorts.”

Applegate recently admitted her pregnancy is making her “a little cuckoo”.

“Everything you read in the baby books, I’ve got. The cravings, the morning sickness, the psychosis,” she said last month.

“You kind of go a little cuckoo. Yelling for no reason, that kind of thing.

“It’s almost like you’re stepping outside of yourself and you see this insane monster. And you want to stop her but she’s also kinda funny to watch.”

British Airways suddenly uttered "We're about to crash,"

British Airways suddenly uttered,  "We're about to crash,"  British Airways apologised to passengers after an emergency message warning they were about to crash into the sea was played by mistake.

275 passengers were on the London Heathrow to Hong Kong flight on Tuesday evening when the automated message went out. The plane was flying over the North Sea at the time.

Cabin crew quickly realised the error and moved to reassure the terrified passengers.

"We all thought we were going to die," Michelle Lord, 32, of Preston, told The Sun newspaper.

Another passenger was reported saying: "I can't think of anything worse than being told your plane's about to crash."

A spokesman for British Airways said an investigation was under way to discover whether it was human error or a computer glitch.

"We apologise to passengers on board the flight for causing them undue distress," he added in a statement.

"Our cabin crew immediately made an announcement following the message advising customers that it was an error and that the flight would continue as normal."

Aaliyah born 16 Jan.1979, died 25 Aug. 2001 airplane crash

Aaliyah Dana Haughton who performed under the mononym Aaliyah was an American recording artist, actress and model. She was born in Brooklyn, New York, and was raised in Detroit, Michigan. At an early age, she appeared on the television show Star Search and performed in concert alongside Gladys Knight. At age 12, Aaliyah signed with Jive Records and Blackground Records by her uncle, Barry Hankerson. He introduced her to R. Kelly, who became her mentor, as well as lead songwriter and producer of her debut album, Age Ain't Nothing but a Number. The album sold three million copies in the United States and was certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). After facing allegations of an illegal marriage with Kelly, Aaliyah ended her contract with Jive and signed to Atlantic Records.
Aaliyah worked with record producers Timbaland and Missy Elliott for her second album, One in a Million; it sold three million copies in the United States and over eight million copies worldwide. In 2000, Aaliyah appeared in her first major film, Romeo Must Die. She contributed to the film's soundtrack, which spawned the single "Try Again". The song topped the Billboard Hot 100 solely on airplay, making Aaliyah the first artist in Billboard history to achieve this feat. "Try Again" earned Aaliyah a Grammy Award nomination for Best Female R&B Vocalist.

After completing Romeo Must Die, Aaliyah filmed her part in Queen of the Damned. She released her third and final album, Aaliyah, in 2001. On August 25, 2001, Aaliyah and eight others were killed in an airplane crash in The Bahamas after filming the music video for the single "Rock the Boat". The pilot, Luis Morales III, was unlicensed at the time of the accident and had traces of cocaine and alcohol in his system. Aaliyah's family later filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Blackhawk International Airways, which was settled out of court. Since then, Aaliyah's music has achieved commercial success with several posthumous releases. With album sales estimated to be between 24 to 32 million copies worldwide, Aaliyah has been credited for helping redefine R&B and hip hop, earning her the nickname "Princess of R&B".

Angelina Jolie topless photos

Honestly speaking that Angelina Jolie's publicist says the U.S. actress won't be playing doomed screen icon Marilyn Monroe, contrary to reports saying she will.

UsMagazine.com quoted author Andrew O'Hagan as saying earlier this week Jolie is attached to portray Monroe in the movie version of his novel, "The Life and Opinions of Maf the Dog."

But both the actress and her publicist have subsequently said she has no plans to star in the movie.

"Angelina is not attached to this project," Jolie's representative told the Los Angeles Times.

"This is a new rumor," UsMagazine.com said Jolie told reporters at the "Salt" premiere in London Monday. "It sounds very nice -- I just haven't got the phone call yet. You guys will probably know before I do."

Elin Nordegren dissolute her marriage to golf star Tiger Woods

At last Elin Nordegren has opened her mouth on the infidelity scandal that rocked her family and led to the dissolution of her marriage to golf star Tiger Woods.

In what she says will be a one-time-only discussion of her side of the story, Nordegren spoke with People magazine for 19 hours over four days. The revelations were sobering, and in some cases surprising.

The three key takeaways from Nordegren's story are:

• She says she is in no way a violent person, calling any speculation that she swung a golf club at Woods on Thanksgiving night "ridiculous."

• She was completely broadsided by the news of Woods' extramarital affairs, believing that she was the only woman in his life. In short, she was as surprised as most of the rest of the world that the persona Woods put forth – dedicated competitor, family man – was a carefully constructed sham. "I'm so embarassed that I never suspected [his affairs] – not a one," she said.

• In line with that, she said she believed fully that her relationship with Woods was a real marriage, not an act orchestrated for cameras and sponsors. "The word betrayal is just not strong enough," she told People. "I have been through the stages of disbelief and shock to anger and ultimately grief over the loss of the family I so badly wanted for my children."

Woods, who will be playing in this weekend's Barclays Championship in New Jersey, has not yet commented on Nordegren's interview. Clearly, however, she plans on him being in the picture as the father of her children – daughter Sam, 3, and son Charlie, 19 months – as she didn't scorch the earth with her comments. She declined to go into more detail about the events of Thanksgiving, and she would not comment on the size of her divorce settlement – rumored to be in excess of $100 million – except to indicate that it is substantial enough that she won't have to work initially and will be able to focus on raising her children.

The People magazine article gives the impression that Nordegren is both very aware of her celebrity – perhaps infamy – as the aggrieved wife, and also very understanding of the fact that she is something of a punch line for gaining so much money in the divorce settlement. As such, she intends to remain a private person and has no intention of being a celebrity – refreshing in an age where everyone who nabs a single headline is rushing to sign a reality-TV or talk show deal.

Most surprisingly, throughout all the drama of the Woods scandal, Nordegren quietly spent time as a humble college student, taking night classes in pursuit of a psychology degree. According to her, she's 40 credits short of a bachelor's degree in psychology, and hopes to follow that with a master's and, at some point in the future, work as a therapist herself. Perhaps fittingly, she took a clinical approach to her own healing, facing it directly and without shame in regular, intensive therapy sessions.

"My immediate plan is for the kids and me to continue to adjust to ournew situation," she said. "I am going to keep taking classes, but my main focus isto try to give myself time to heal."

As for the future, she plans to raise the children in South Florida, near a home she and Woods have been building in Jupiter. So it seems she intends for him to remain a part of her life in some capacity; indeed, the article begins with Woods arriving home with the children during the interview and surprising Elin, who reacts with kindness and respect.

For now, this will close Elin Nordegren's side of the story. Clearly, though, this will follow her and her family for decades to come.

The issue of People featuring Elin Nordegren on the cover will be inescapable starting Friday. Below, some video from Wednesday morning's Today Show covering the story:

Alexa Ray Joel suffering depression

Alexa Ray Joel 24 says she sees a therapist and talks more with her parents after suffering depression.

Joel was candid in discussing her Dec. 5 overdose and subsequent hospitalization with People magazine. "I felt like I was in a black hole and I couldn't see out," she said. "I hit rock bottom that day … A part of me wanted people close to me to know -- not the whole world."

Joel said a bad case of heartbreak over an on-again-off-again relationship with her ex-boyfriend, former bassist Jimmy Riot, triggered her depression. She is now following her mother's footsteps and appears in commercials for Prell shampoo, People said.

Joel, whose new album debuts in June, says she has her own identity and people shouldn't compare her music to her father's and her looks to her mother's. "Can't I just be me," she said.
